How Georgia jobs actually run

Utility territory matters here more than most owners expect: Georgia Power, Georgia EMC, MEAG each have their own disconnect and metering process, and the sequence of who de-energizes what is usually the longest lead item on the schedule.

Freight is the other half. We route Georgia work along I-75, I-85, I-20 and I-285, which is what keeps trailer and crew cost predictable on a quote instead of padded.

Georgia work concentrates in two bands. North of Atlanta the carpet mills around Dalton, the poultry processing belt and the automotive and tire plants along I-75 and I-85 run heavy motor control centers and dry-type transformers that come out whenever a line is reconfigured. South and east, the Savannah port corridor and the logistics build-out behind it generate switchboards, panelboards and feeder cable. Georgia Power standardization programs add pad-mount transformers in quantity, and Atlanta itself sits close enough to everything that we rarely price a Georgia job around freight.

Georgia questions

Do we have to disconnect the equipment before you arrive?

No. We handle removal. Your electrician or the utility performs the final isolation and we verify it; from there our crews lock out, cut and cap cable at the gland, unbolt the sections, skate them out and load them. If the Georgia room is still partly live we phase the work.

How do you handle transformer oil in Georgia?

Oil is tested, drained and manifested through licensed handlers, and you receive the documentation with your paperwork. PCB-suspect units go under a separate waste profile. Nothing is left on your pad in Georgia and nothing gets dumped — the handling cost is already in the offer.

When do we get paid?

Before the equipment leaves your Georgia dock. Wire, company check or cashier's check, whichever your accounting group prefers. On large phased projects we pay per load as it ships rather than holding everything until the end.

What if the equipment is old or has no test records?

We still quote it. Records raise the number — a NETA test report on a breaker or a transformer is the single document that most improves what we can pay — but their absence disqualifies nothing. We price Georgia equipment on what our technicians and the replacement market say it is worth.

Are you insured to work inside our Georgia facility?

Yes. We carry general liability, auto, workers' compensation and umbrella coverage, and we issue a certificate naming your entity as additional insured before crews mobilize to Georgia. We also complete vendor onboarding, background checks and site-specific safety orientation on request.
